KidsChild Care Providers
Ohio’s Child Care Providers are professionals who help make Ohio’s families productive. By providing in-home care for our future generations of Ohioans, parents can go to work knowing their children are in a safe, learning, and nurturing environment.

Child Care providers around Ohio and around the nation are joining AFSCME to have a voice about reimbursement rates, consistent pay practices, training and operating rules. And AFSCME is right the union to help Child Care Providers get that done.

Unfortunately some Child Care Providers are not paid on time for a day that may be 12 hours long. The system could benefit from consistent rules about home inspections and certification requirements. As AFSCME Ohio Council 8 organizes Child Care Providers across Ohio (like we have done in 11 other states) we will have the strength to address these issues with the State and Counties who administer these programs.
